Ingredients

How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350
  • Toast sesame seeds on baking sheet for 5-10 minutes or until just slightly darker
  • Put silpat on sheet pan
  • Oil inside of spring form ring(put bottom of pan aside)
  • Place upside down in center of silpat
  • In a saucepan, bring honey, sesame seeds, and salt to a boil over medium heat, stirring until it starts to boil
  • Boil undisturbed until mixture read 285 on thermometer (about 15 minutes)
  • Pour mixture into ring
  • Cool until candy sets, about 1/2 hour
  • Unmold, and slice into bite size pieces with an oiled knife

    I love this!! I am glad you posted the recipe. Usually I find a similar candy in oriental grocery stores. I have some great locay honey from a friend that will be used for this.

    My mom used to make this when we were kids. It's the only "candy" we ate. We weren't allowed to have "american" candy..my mom thought it was filled with poison because she could not read /pronunce the ingredients on the wrappers...boy was she a smart lady.. I thank her for it everyday
