Amish Friendship Bread Starter And Bread Recipe

Amish Friendship Bread Starter And Bread Recipe
Prep time does not include making the starter. This is another version of the amish friendship bread starter. This one does not contain the fruit as the previous one did. Enjoy, this is very good.

Absolutely love this bread - I make mine with Chocolate pudding and choco chips! Too good!

Gotta do this! Gets my 5+! ;)

Hi Henrie! I make tis bread every 10 days and freeze the loaves I make. But, how do I freeze the starter? Do I wait until day 10 and freeze it? Then when I'm ready to bake it, take it out and thaw and add the rest of ingredients and bake? I've always wondered how I could do this. I love this bread though! I take it to my ladies Bible study and they LOVE it. Everyone does! I have to try hard to not eat it much b/c I'm trying to be good:)! Thanks! Emily

I have not done this in years and never started it, always got it from someone else. Thanks for sharing.

Love this bread!!! Got my 5. In my neck of the woods we call it "Herman".

Thanks for the post, I had this recipe but got lost yrs ago. Love this Bread.

Thanks Henrie for this recipe. I have been a slave to this bread for months. My husband and friends love it. I didn't know how to start it so I just kept feeding it. I know why frecapt has named it Herman. It definitely can become a member of the family.

One thing we do different is put it in a gallon plastic freezer bag. It's easier to keep and you can just squish it together. You don't have to stir!

I got a starter from luvshk a few months ago...kept it going for a lil while..lost a couple of friends along the way..haha just kidding..I finally ended up putting the starts that I had in the freezer not knowing if I should or not. But now I know it's ok..thanx henrie.
I probably won't start this myself. I'll just wait for luv to throw me a starter again. :)

Another five.

Hi henri, I have used this recipe alot in the past, but I put the ingredients in a large zip-lock bag. I think I've tried just about every pudding mix there is with this recipe, as well as choc. chips, nuts...this is good bread!
