- 1 1/2 C flour
- 1 C brown sugar
- 1/4 C butter
- 1/2 t baking soda, dissolved in 3/4 C lukewarm water
- 1/2 C dark molasses

Ingredients

1 1/2 C flour shopping list
1 C brown sugar shopping list
1/4 C butter shopping list
1/2 t baking soda, dissolved in 3/4 C lukewarm water shopping list
1/2 C dark molasses shopping list

How to make it

Line a standard size pie pan with your favorite pie crust. Do not pre-bake. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Make crumbs by mixing together the flour, sugar and butter.
In another bowl, mix together soda, water and molasses. Pour this mixture in the pie shell; sprinkle the crumbs all over the top.
Bake at 350 for 45 minutes or until pie is firm and top is lightly browned.

My grandmother made these too and didn't leave me her recipe. I have tried many shoofly pie recipes and am still looking for the perfect one!
