Ingredients
  • 4 cups cauliflower florets cut
  • 1 lb ground Lamb/ Goat/ Beef (I prefer goat meat)
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 2 medium tomatoes
  • 1 tsp garlic paste
  • 1 inch piece ginger root sliced thinly
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • a pinch of turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp or to taste red chilli powder
  • 1-1/2 tsp garam masals powder, divided
  • salt to taste
  • 2 green chillies
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves
  • 1/3 cup oil

Directions
  1. Heat oil in a heavy based pan, add finely chopped onion. Fry for 2-3 min until opaque.
  2. Add turmeric powder, cumin seeds and garlic paste fry for another minute or so.
  3. To this add chopped tomatoes, fry for at least 7-8 minutes. Add coriander powder, red chilli powder, salt and garam masala, stir.
  4. Add in ground lamb/goat/ beef and fry for 5 minutes until the meat is brown. Add a cup of water and let simmer for at leat 30 minutes or until the meat is tender. You may have to simmer for longer if you are using ground beef.
  5. If there is water left still turn the heat to high and fry until the oil is separated. Fry meat for another 5 minutes.
  6. Add cut cauliflower and and stir to cover evenly. Add two green chillies too at this time.
  7. Cover and let cook for another 30 minutes on medium-low heat until the cauliflower is thoroughly cooked.
  8. Sprinkle with ginger slices, coriander leaves and garam masala and serve with pita or roti.
  9. Do not forget to enjoy :)

Sounds so interesting! I love goat meat, I just wish I could get it around here...(NY) But would sure like to try your dish using the lamb though...thanks for a great post! - Leah

Atariq, sounds really tasty. Saved it for later. I wish I had it cooked already. I have ground lamb in the freezer waiting for a good recipe like this.

I love this dish , usually add cubed potatoes and some shelled peas yummy..............thanks

My family would love this in pita or naan (I prefer naan). We love hand-held meals as most families do these days and this would be wonderful. I like Mumtaz's comment about adding cubed potatoes and peas. A full meal deal!
