How to make it

  • Pit the dates, and cut a slit lengthwise down the middle of each one.
  • Fill each slit with Marscarpone.
  • When all are done, put them on a serving plate and drizzle with honey.
  • Stick slivered almonds into the cheese filling of each date.
  • If you use ground almonds, just sprinkle then over the stuffed dates.

I ate something very similar to this at a friend's house, and LOVED it! Thanks for the recipe - now I can try making this myself!

Very close to the ones my mom used to do, except she never had the mascarpone, she used piped cream cheese with lemon rind grated in it. Good stuff. I remember passing them around at her parties dressed in aprons. YUMMY.

OMG Delia! These dates sound out of this world! I can't WAIT to try them. I love your exotic taste in food -- that's where I'm at right now too. AND, when I compared the food you put you're into right now to that I said I was into right now I knew we just had to be friends!!
