Cabbage And Meat Casserole Recipe
This is a great comfort casserole.

Ingredients
  • 1 cabbage, medium
  • 1-1/2 to 2 lbs. lean ground hamburger or turkey
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced or 1-1/2 tsp. garlic powder
  • 1/2 green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 2 medium cans Brooks diced tomatoes with onions
  • 1 (16 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1 pkg. hash browns, frozen
  • 2 Tbsp. dried onion flakes
  • Cheddar Cheese, shredded
  • (whatever amount you want)

Directions
  1. Chop up cabbage and microwave for 10 minutes.
  2. I prefer to boil the cabbage and drain it.
  3. Saute hamburger or turkey. minced garlic and green pepper.
  4. Drain any fat.
  5. Mix all ingredients together and put in a large casserole dish.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
  7. During the last 1/2 hour, remove the casserole from the oven and sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese over the top.
  8. Place back in oven and bake for the remaining 1/2 hour until cheese bubbles and begins to darken.

I don't know what it is but I have been eating lots of cabbage lately (a very strange craving don't you think?) I will have to try this recipe, it sounds good
