Lamb Meatballs With Lemon And Crumbled Feta Fondue Recipe
This is very different yet very impressive. So creamy and delightful. I make this on special occasions and always enjoy it.

Ingredients
  • 24 lamb meatballs cooked
  • 1-1/2 cups crumbled feta cheese
  • 2 teaspoons cornstarch
  • 1-1/4 cup milk
  • 8 ounce package cream cheese cut in pieces
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice
  • 3 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint
  • 1 teaspoon grated lemon peel

Directions
  1. In a medium-size bowl toss the feta cheese with the cornstarch.
  2. In a medium size heavy-bottomed saucepan heat the milk and cream cheese over low heat until the cream cheese is almost melted smooth then stir in lemon juice.
  3. Add the feta a handful at a time stirring until cheese is melted before adding more.
  4. When all the cheese has been added stir in the dill, mint and lemon peel.
  5. Transfer fondue to an enamel or ceramic fondue pot and keep warm over a fondue burner.
  6. Warm meatballs and dip in fondue sauce then serve immediately.

The flavours sound fantastic! I'm curious though- I use a lot of feta and find it very hard to melt. Do you recommend a creamy feta for this recipe? I usually buy the very firm & crumbly kind.


I only buy Athenos brand....it melts great.
