How to make it

  • Heat oil in small skillet over medium heat
  • Add onions and celery and saute 3 minutes until softened
  • Stir in thyme and sage and cool slightly
  • Combine onion mixture in large bowl with turkey, bread crumbs, apple, egg, parsley, mustard, salt and pepper
  • Mix well and pack into a greased 8x4 inch loaf pan
  • Bake at 350F for 30 minutes.
  • Pour off accumulated fat
  • Glaze
  • Combine glaze ingredients in small bowl and brush over top of loaf
  • Bake 30 minutes more or until golden and juices run clear when pierced

    Now this looks good. I have been searching for a turkey meatloaf recipe that is not just like the "beef" recipes but sounds like it makes sense and this one does. Have you ever added any bell pepper?

    Yum....I have never heard of adding apples! Very curious....I'll have to try this one. Thanks for posting a wonderful, comforting recipe. We were going to have meatloaf this weekend too!! Jett

    I've been looking for a good meat loaf recipe. This one sounds good - I hope it works for me. The first and last time I made a meatloaf, the lower half stayed in the loaf pan, while the top half crumbled out onto the platter LMAO We ended up eating crumbly hamburger for two days lol Bookmarking this. Thanks for sharing

    Apples - an interesting addition. Then I realized we enjoy turkey sausages with apples so this seems a sure-fire hit.
