Spaghetti Sauce In Bulk Recipe
I love this because I cook in the crockpot one day and have spaghetti sauce for the month!!

Ingredients
  • 2 jars of your favorite store spaghetti sauce
  • 2-14.5 oz cans peeled and diced tomatoes
  • 2-14.5 oz. cans of stewed tomatoes
  • 12oz. tomato paste
  • 2 onions chopped
  • 4-6 cloves garlic-minced
  • 2 tsp. dried thyme
  • 2 Tbsp. dried oregano
  • 2 Tbsp. dried Basil
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 1 1/2 lb. mild Italian sausage ring
  • 1 lb. either ground beef or meatballs(see my meatball recipe that is what we use)
  • 2 tsp. olive oil

Directions
  1. In a frying pan brown ground beef if using, drain and place in crockpot. If using meatballs just add 'em(I dont even thaw them )
  2. Brown the sausage in olive oil on each side not cooked through just browned.
  3. Remove and place in crockpot.
  4. Add onions and garlic to oil and saute' until glassy and add to crockpot.(careful not to brown garlic will be yucky if it gets brown)
  5. Dump everything else in.
  6. Give it a stir and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
  7. Eat some for dinner and pack the rest away in the freezer for the rest of the week!! If you feel like it go ahead and throw a lasagna together and freeze for a quick dinner. (I freeze the sausage by it's self for sausage sandwiches so on dinner day just saute some onions and green peppers!)

Alterations


I'm so absent minded sometimes! I have 2 picky kids so in the crockpot goes a handful of carrots chopped small and zucchini chopped the same way. If you chop them small enough they disappear and your left with veggies your kids will love eating!!!If some dont "disappear" I smoosh 'em with a fork, just so long as no one sees green LOL!
