Ingredients

3 sticks soft butter

3 cups sugar

6 eggs

3 cups all purpose flour

1/2 tea salt

1/2 tea baking powder

1 cup buttermilk (or 4 tbls dry buttermilk-found in baking aisle)

flavoring (1 tbls vanilla or juice of 1/2 lemon and zest of 1 whole )

Directions

cream together the butter and sugar

add eggs one at a time mix throughly after each addition

In seperate bowl

Mix flour, salt and baking powder

Combine the dry ingredients to the wet

half at a time just until combined

*****CAUTION: Do not OVER MIX once you add dry ingredients*****

add milk and flavoring

( I prefer the 1 piece bundt cake pan with straight sides.)

Bake at 325 for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Test for doneness

GLAZE: combine confectionary sugar with juice of lemon to desire consistency and drizzed or drench cake. Great with carmel too!
