Ingredients
  • 3 sticks soft butter
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 6 eggs
  • 3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tea salt
  • 1/2 tea baking powder
  • 1 cup buttermilk (or 4 tbls dry buttermilk-found in baking aisle)
  • flavoring (1 tbls vanilla or juice of 1/2 lemon and zest of 1 whole )

Directions
  1. cream together the butter and sugar
  2. add eggs one at a time mix throughly after each addition
  3. In seperate bowl
  4. Mix flour, salt and baking powder
  5. Combine the dry ingredients to the wet
  6. half at a time just until combined
  7. *****CAUTION: Do not OVER MIX once you add dry ingredients*****
  8. add milk and flavoring
  9. ( I prefer the 1 piece bundt cake pan with straight sides.)
  10. Bake at 325 for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Test for doneness
  11. GLAZE: combine confectionary sugar with juice of lemon to desire consistency and drizzed or drench cake. Great with carmel too!
