Ingredients

How to make it

  • cream together the butter and sugar
  • add eggs one at a time mix throughly after each addition
  • In seperate bowl
  • Mix flour, salt and baking powder
  • Combine the dry ingredients to the wet
  • half at a time just until combined
  • *****CAUTION: Do not OVER MIX once you add dry ingredients*****
  • add milk and flavoring
  • ( I prefer the 1 piece bundt cake pan with straight sides.)
  • Bake at 325 for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. Test for doneness
  • GLAZE: combine confectionary sugar with juice of lemon to desire consistency and drizzed or drench cake. Great with carmel too!

    I often use the powdered buttermilk. Usually I use a cup or less of water with my flavoring mixed in.

    This sounds like a wonderful recipe! Do you add milk or water if you use the powdered buttermilk instead of the regular buttermilk? If you use the powdered mix, what do I replace the one cup of liquid buttermilk with? Please let us know and thank you for another delicious recipe to try!
