Maple - Candied Salmon Recipe
A delicious recipe, both on the day it's made and cold the day after! Reminiscent of "Indian Candy". Baking time will vary with the thickness of your fish.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb thick-cut salmon fillets
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 2 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp light brown sugar

Directions
  1. Heat oven to 350°F.
  2. In a food processor, combine syrup, garlic, ginger, salt, pepper and olive oil until well combined.
  3. Spray a shallow, glass baking dish with non-stick cooking spray.
  4. Place fillets in dish, skin-side down.
  5. Pour the sauce over the fillets, completely covering them.
  6. Sprinkle lightly with brown sugar.
  7. Bake 20-30 minutes, until the sugar has caramelized.

You could also do this w/ pork chops. I do almost the same thing-minus ginger- for my hubby. He loves it-says it reminds of honey bee ham. Still trying to master that glaze-he can tell if it's not the real thing!!

Uh... I love this recipe. Always looking for new ways to cook salmon. Maple is a very surprising addition to salmon, but I think it would be great¡¡ Thanks for sharing.
