Ingredients

How to make it

  • Combine sugar, cocoa, flour, and salt in a sauce pan. Add 1/4 cup of the milk and whisk briskly to form a smooth paste. Heat the remaining milk over medium heat until very hot. Remove from heat. Gradually whisk into cocoa mixture. Scrape sides and bottom of pot with rubber spatula, then set pot over medium heat. Cook and stir until gravy comes to a boil, scraping pot bottom and sides occasionally. When gravy comes to a full boil, reduce heat to a low boil. Boil and stir for 4 minutest. Remove from heat. Immediately add butter. Spoon over piping-hot open-faced biscuits with plenty of butter.

*oooph* I don't think I can take any more insane laughing or your decadent biscuit recipes - You are gonna do me in, I swear! Thank you for your family heirloom. I know how protective people can get about 'family recipes'. Uncommonly kind of you. LOL I thought I was bad, smearing Nutella on my bacon ;) You truly are a woman after my own heart. So glad we met! And gladder you are much less "stringent" about the food you eat now *grin*
