- 1 kg fresh fish {snoek,steenbras,yellowtail,}----cut into portions shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- cooking oil {for frying} shopping list
- INGREDIENTS FOR SAUCE :- shopping list
- 2 large onions ,sliced shopping list
- 5 cloves garlic .....chopped shopping list
- 500ml vinegar shopping list
- 125ml water shopping list
- 10 ml curry powder shopping list
- 5ml turmeric shopping list
- 10 ml whole coriander seeds shopping list
- 1 ml peppercorns shopping list
- 4 allspice shopping list
- 2-3 bay leaves shopping list
- sugar to taste` shopping list
- chillies to taste {fresh green ....sliced} shopping list
How to make it
- wash fish and season with salt
- heat oil in frying pan....fry fish until cooked ....5 minutes on both sides
- set aside cooked fish
- make sauce:-
- in a saucepan cook vinegar,onions and spices
- simmer gently until well blended and onions are transparent,but still crunchy
- stir in sugar to taste
- place cooked fish in a deep casserole dish and pour warm sauce over ensuring all the fish is covered
- allow flavour to develop while cooling
- serve with freshly baked butter bread .......yummy ...enjoy
