Ingredients
  • About 2 cups or so of baby okra pods -- no longer than 2" long, maximum.
  • 1/2 cup unsalted sweet cream butter, melted
  • Several squeezes of fresh lemon juice.
  • 1 - 1 1/2 quarts of water

Directions
  1. Bring the water to a full boil.
  2. While the water is coming to a boil, squeeze lemon juice into the melted butter.
  3. Pour the okra into the boiling water and boil for exactly seven minutes.
  4. Drain and plunge the okra into ice water for just a few seconds
  5. Drain, and arrange okra attractively on a platter.
  6. To serve, each diner takes an individual okra pod by the stem end, dips all or part of it into the lemon butter, and eats it!

I love okra and grew it once in my garden. I made as many dishes as I possibly could with the one plant.
I bet this looks fantastic; wish it were in front of me now.
