Try this while "Watchin' Idol" As a BBQ Chip fan, this a pretty healthy alternative to those chips. No Butter. About 60 calories a cup!

Ingredients
  • 3-4 TBS vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon turmeric
  • dash or two of chilli powder
  • Pinch hot red pepper powder

Directions
  1. In a heavy-bottomed, six-quart saucepan (or larger), place the oil, add a few kernels. When the first kernels pop, add the popcorn kernels.
  2. Cover and pop, shaking frequently.
  3. Mix the rest of the ingredients (seasonings) in a small bowl.
  4. Pour the popped corn into a large paper bag and add the seasonings.
  5. Shake and serve.
  6. Now who will miss those BBQ Chips!

The turmeric makes for a nice yellow color. Love the spice and the fact that you use vegetable oie instead of butter.
