Southern Orange Pudding

Old southern recipe from the East Point Women's club cookbook
Ingredients
- 6 oranges, peeled & sliced shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup shredded coconut shopping list
- 1 pint milk shopping list
- 3 egg yolks, well beaten shopping list
- another 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons cornstarch shopping list
- *************************************** shopping list
- MERINGUE shopping list
- *************************************** shopping list
- 3 egg whites, well beaten shopping list
- 3 teaspoons vanilla shopping list
- 3 Tablespoons sugar shopping list
How to make it
- Mix oranges, sugar and shredded coconut.
- Refrigerate
- Make a custard of milk, egg yolks, sugar and cornstarch on top of the stove.
- Drain juice off orange mixture; put the fruit in glass dish and pour custard over fruit
- Make the meringue and pour over orange mixture
- Place under broiler until brown
