- 1 CUP cornmeal shopping list
- 1 CUP flour shopping list
- 2 TABLESPOON sugar shopping list
- 2 TABLESPOON baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 TEASPOON salt shopping list
- 1/2 TEASPOON dry mustard shopping list
- 1 egg ( SLIGHTLY BEATEN ) shopping list
- 2 TABLESPOON shortening ( MELTED ) shopping list
- 1 - CUP milk ( OR buttermilk) shopping list
- 1 POUND hot dogs shopping list
- oil FOR FRYING shopping list
- POPSICLE STICKS FOR THE AMT YOU WILL MAKE shopping list
How to make it
- MIX CORNMEAL WITH FLOUR, SUGAR,BAKING POWDER AND SALT.and dry mustard
- ADD EGG AND MILK .
- BLEND IN MELTED SHORTENING;MIX WELL
- INSERT POPCICLE STICKS 1/2 WAY INTO HOTDOGS.
- AND DIP HOT DOGS INTO BATTER, AND COVER COMPLETELY
- PUT IN DEEP FRYER IN SMALL BATCHES AND FRY AT 375 DEGREES UNTIL GOLDEN BROWN
- SERVE WITH MUSTARD - OR KETCHUP- POTATO CHIPS OR FRENCH FRIES

I used about 1 cup of milk. Did you intend to omit the amount of milk? I have little experience with batters and deep frying but a cup seemed about right to make a fairly thick batter.miriam in Winnipeg loved it
