How to make it

  • Insert sticks into tops of apples and place in the fridge
  • Grease one 13 x 9 baking sheet. set aside
  • Meanwhile, follow praline recipe until you reach the peanut butter stage
  • Remove apples from fridge
  • Working quickly and carefully, dip apples into praline mixture until all four are covered.
  • Place on greased pan allow to cool for 3 min and shape around apple until smooth. (if too hot allow to cool for 2 min more)
  • With remainding praline mixture, scrape from bowl and spoon and allow to cool on second greased bowl
  • While apples are cooling, place chocolate and shortening in double boiler or a heat resistant bowl over a pot of boiling water and stir til melted.
  • With apples cooled, line an additional 13 x 9 pan with waxed paper
  • Dip apples into chocolate mixture and gently shake off excess placing them in wax paper lined pan.
  • When all are dipped, wait about 4 min and then sprinkle apples with praline crumbs.

    You're gonna pack 5 pounds on me today just looking at your praline recipe, then THIS creation with it...outstanding - love the praline crumbs sprinkled on the outside...this one is decadent!!

    Sounds wonderful...but I'm not an artistic cook...I think I must qualify as "Faint at heart"! Bet they are delicious!
