  • 9 CUPS FLOUR ( SIFTED)
  • 1/3 CUP BAKING POWDER
  • 1 TABLESPOON SALT
  • 2 TEASPOON CREAM OF TARTAR
  • 4 TABLESPOON SUGAR
  • 1 CUP NONFAT DRY MILK
  • 2 CUPS SHORTENING

Directions
  1. SIFT TOGETHER DRY INGREDIENTS 3 TIMES.
  2. CUT IN SHORTENING UNTIL IT LOOKS LIKE COARSE CORNMEAL.
  3. STORE IN COVERED AIRTIGHT CONTAINER.
  4. **************************************************************************
  5. NOTE******** TO MEASURE ; LIGHTLY PILE IN A ONE CUP MEASURE, AND LEVEL IT OFF, DO NOT PACK IT.
  6. AND ADD MILK..........TO MAKE PANCAKES ;........2 CUPS BISQUICK TO 1 CUP OF MILK AND 1 EGG....MIX AND COOK MAKES 14 PANCAKES
  7. FOR BISCUITS ;......2-1/4 CUPS BISQUICK AND 2/3 CUPS MILK
  8. FOR WAFFLES ;......2 CUPS BISQUICK AND 1-1/3 CUPS OF MILK 2 TBSP OIL AND 1 EGG MIX AND POUR

How long does it stay fresh? When you mix the shortening (wet) with the baking powder (dry active) does it not react, and start working?
