Turtle Squares

- 2c all purpose flour shopping list
- 21/2c brown sugar divided, firmly packed shopping list
- 21/2c butter, divided shopping list
- 1c pecan pieces ( I use more) shopping list
- 6oz. couveture (melting chocolate) shopping list
- 2T butter shopping list
How to make it
- In a small bowl combine flour and 1 cup of packed brown sugar. Work 1/2 cup of the butter into flour until fine and crumbly. Press into a greased 9x13 pan. (mixture will seem quite dry)
- Sprinkle pecans evenly overtop.
- In a heavy saucepan melt the remaining 2 cups of butter. Add remaining 11/2 cups of brown sugar. Cook, stirring vigorously ( I use a whisk) until completely combined. ( there should be no butter separated from the sugar)
- Pour gently over base in prepared pan.
- Bake in a 350F oven for about 12 mins. our until caramel starts to bubble. Chill
- Melt chocolate and butter in microwave, spread evenly over squares.

The more butter...the better. If you're going to eat a dessert, you may as well go with the butter and really enjoy!
