How to make it

  • Forty minutes before serving, fry bacon crisp and drain. Crumble bacon. Drain fat, empty potatoes into pan with seasoning; stir in 3 cups water, onion flakes and sugar; cover and cook on low for 30 minutes until potatoes are tender. Stir in vinegar and bacon bits. Serve hot.

    This was OUTSTANDING!!!! I finally made it a couple weeks ago, cooked one bacon strip more than it calls for by mistake and left the grease in the pan (there wasn't a lot) and it was fabulous!!! I'm not a sour food fan. I would have liked it with a bit more vinegar, but it was wonderful regardless. I will be doing this way simple recipe again!! Don't be afraid to try it.
