Mom made this all the time for me it stuck with me. This is a great Cuban dish If you haven't had this then this is a must for Cuban food lovers

Ingredients
  • Flank Steak (about 2 lbs.)
  • 1 can tomato sauce
  • 1/3 cup olive oil
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 onion
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1/2 cup dry wine
  • 1 large bell pepper
  • 1 small jar of pimentos (chopped)

Directions
  1. Slow cook flank steak till tender. Separate meat into fine strings.
  2. Cut onion and bell pepper crosswise making thin circles. Mash the garlic then cook in oil , then add bell pepper and onions.
  3. Add the meat and the remaining ingredients and cook covered on low heat for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Serve over or along with white or brown rice and a fresh salad. Serves 8
