Ingredients

How to make it

  • Melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic
  • Simmer gently so that it doesn't brown
  • Add the catsup or chili sauce and Tamari and simmer for about 10 minutes
  • Add the sherry for a couple minutes more to let the flavors blend
  • USE THIS AS A BASTE, NOT A MARINADE
  • Baste the salmon just before grilling
  • If using salmon steaks, baste both sides and baste while turning; if using a fillet put it on a double thickness of tin foil and baste the top
  • BBQ with lid closed, 15 minutes or so or until done to your taste.
  • Baste it just before removing from grill
  • Sprinkle with chopped scallions and serve
