From kathye 15 years agoIngredients
- 4 salmon steaks or a large fillet for 4 people shopping list
- 2 cloves minced garlic shopping list
- 1 T butter shopping list
- 1/4 catsup or Heinz Chili Sauce shopping list
- 1/4 cup tamari Sauce shopping list
- 1/4 cup sherry (the kind you would drink) shopping list
- handful of scallions, chopped fine shopping list
How to make it
- Melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic
- Simmer gently so that it doesn't brown
- Add the catsup or chili sauce and Tamari and simmer for about 10 minutes
- Add the sherry for a couple minutes more to let the flavors blend
- USE THIS AS A BASTE, NOT A MARINADE
- Baste the salmon just before grilling
- If using salmon steaks, baste both sides and baste while turning; if using a fillet put it on a double thickness of tin foil and baste the top
- BBQ with lid closed, 15 minutes or so or until done to your taste.
- Baste it just before removing from grill
- Sprinkle with chopped scallions and serve
