How to make it

  • Add some oil to large saute pan or pot set on high heat
  • put in about 1 T flour and stir for about one minute
  • put in cabbage, onion, salt, pepper, garlic and stir to wilt down
  • While that is going on lightly flour pork chops
  • heat a frying pan with oil on high heat
  • and quickly saute the chops to some color
  • do this in batches to keep them from steaming, need the color
  • place chops aside and check on cabbage mix to see if it has softened
  • and is wilted down a bit
  • In 13x9 baking dish layer 1/2 of cabbage mix
  • pork chops
  • dressing
  • mushrooms
  • rest of cabbage
  • oregano
  • top with cheese
  • bake 350 for about 45 mts
  • broil for a few mts in the end if it hasn't browned up nicely
