Peanut Butter Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients

CAKE:

2 c. flour

2 c. sugar

1/2 t. salt

1 t. soda

2 sticks margarine

1 c. water

1/3 c. smooth peanut butter

2 eggs, beaten

1 t.. vanilla

1/2 c. buttermilk ( or 1/2 c. milk + 1T. vinegar)

chopped peanuts (optional)

PEANUT BUTTER ICING

1 stick margarine

1/3 c. smooth peanut butter

1/3 c. + 1 T. milk

1 lb. powdered sugar

1 t.. vanilla

Directions

CAKE:

Sift first four ingredients together and set aside.

Bring margarine, water and peanut butter to a boil and add to flour mixture.

In another bowl, combine eggs, vanilla and buttermilk.

Add to peanutbutter batter.

Pour into a greased 10x15" pan and bake at 350F for 15-20 minutes.

Ice cake while still warm and sprinkle with chopped peanuts if desired.

FROSTING:

Bring margarine, peanut butter and milk to a boil, remove from heat. Add powdered sugar and vanilla.

Gave it a try and it was GOOOD!!! i did keep the cocoa tho to make it a chocolate peanut butter cake---sooo rich and good w/ vanilla ice cream!!!
