How to make it

  • Melt 1 Tbs. butter in a large Skillet medium heat
  • Add:Barley cook 2-3 minutes. Stir often untill lightly brown place in a oiled 3/4 quart casserole dish. Can Spray casserole dish with cookin spray.
  • Melt remaining butter in skillet
  • Add: Onions Cauliflower mushrooms carrots. Cook 10 minutes
  • Stir often
  • Add veggies to casserole stir
  • {IN A SMALL BOWL} ADD:} water, broth,garlic powder ,.pepper. mix well add to casserole. {Bake 1 hour 15 min. untill Barlet is tender
  • and most of the liquid is absorbed
  • Stir several times while baking
  • let stand 5 minutes serve

    Betty use 2 Tsp. bullion powder{sorry } to evryone else {Use chicken bullion powder.

    Just bought Barley today. Looks really good any time of the year for me. Just curious about 2 tsps chicken broth. Could you even taste that, or were you meaning chicken bullion powder? Thanks for the post.

    This recipe looks delish! I love all the ingredients, especially barley ;) This would be perfect on a cold autumn or winter evening. I'm looking forward to preparing this great casserole.
    P.S. I have one question. Do you put it in a 350 degree oven or maybe a little higher?
