How to make it

  • Brown beef in a skillet. Drain, and then return to the skillet and simmer garlic & onions with the beef on LOW until the onions are translucent, but still a little firm. Add peppers if you chose to use them.
  • Add beans and cook for a few min.
  • Pour in salsa and tomatoes. Simmer.
  • Add basil, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and a touch of rosemary to the pan. You can add or subtract spices here, or even use none of them and add your own variation.
  • Simmer until bubbling and hot.
  • You can either add the cooked rice in with everything, or pour the beef/bean dish over over rice. Or, you can skip the rice altogether. Your choice.
