Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup packed fresh basil leaves,or 2 tsp dried basil
  • 3 tblsp olive oil
  • 2 tblsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1tblsp Djon Mustard
  • 2 tsp grated lemon zest
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 lb egg noodles
  • 3 garlic cloves,peeled
  • 1 10oz package frozen peas
  • 1 10oz package frozen asparagus spears
  • 4 med plum tomatoes,coursely chopped
  • 2 tblsp grated parmesan cheese

Directions
  1. In a large serving bowl,whisk together the basil,oil,lemon juice,mustard,lemon zest,salt,blasck pepper,and red pepper flakes.
  2. set the dressing aside
  3. In a large pot of boiling water,cook the egg noodles with whole garlic until noodles are al dente.
  4. Put the peas and asparagus in a colander.
  5. When noodles are doner,drain them with the garlic in the colander
  6. (hot water will thaw the vegetables)
  7. Rinse the noodles,garlic,and vegetables under cold running water and drain well
  8. Cut asparagus into 1 ins pieces
  9. Press garlic cloves through a garlic press(or mash with a fork) and add them top the dressing.
  10. whisk to blend well
  11. add noodles and peas,asparagus,tomatoes,scallions and parmesan to serving bowl
  12. toss well to coat with dressing.
