Favorite Monte Crisco Sandwich

May be pan fried, deep fried or broiled in oven. My family loves this sandwich and I usually pan fry it like you would do for French Toast Great with potato salad! Powdered sugar on it is very special- got to try it!
Ingredients
- 6 slices of turkey shopping list
- 6 slices of swiss cheese shopping list
- 6 slices of other favorite meat ( pastrami, salami, roast beef, ham etc. ) shopping list
- 12 slices of good quality white ( no not supermarket stuff ) or egg bread shopping list
- Batter: shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups flour shopping list
- 1 Tbs baking powder shopping list
- 1/4 tsp salt shopping list
- 1 1/2 cups milk or water shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- oil/ butter combinations to pan fry shopping list
- or oil for deep frying shopping list
- powdered sugar ( yes! optional ) shopping list
How to make it
- Make sandwich, using butter, mayo, mustard both or whatever you prefer and layer on meat and cheese
- Combine batter ingredients and dip both sides of sandwich in batter.
- Pan fry, or deep fry ( 360F ) or broil both sides ( few inches from heat to brown batter ) till sandwich is golden and cheese is melted.
- Optional: dust with powder sugar ( by the way it really does taste great on this type of sandwich! )
- Serve at once
