Bacon Grease Spice Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

1 c. bacon drippings

1 1/2 cups sugar

3 eggs, unbeaten

3 c. flour

1/2 tsp. cloves

1/2 tsp. allspice

1 tsp. cinnamon

2 c. raisins

1 T. soda

salt, if needed (depends on the drippings)

1/2 to 3/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions

Simmer 2 cups raisins 10 minutes. Drain well. Save 5 tablespoons of juice. Dissolve 1 tablespoon soda in juice. Mix in order given. Set dough in refrigerator for 30 minutes or so before baking. Drop by teaspoonful on ungreased cookie sheet. bake at 375 degrees for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.
