Ingredients
  • 1/2 C. sugar
  • 1/3 C. white vinegar
  • 1 C. salad oil
  • 2 seasoning packets from Oriental ramen noodles
  • 1/4 C. toasted sesame seeds
  • 1/2 C. toasted slivered almonds
  • 1 package broccoli slaw (sometimes this is hard to find so an easy substitue is cole slaw mix & it tastes just as good!)
  • 3-4 green onions, thinly sliced, green tops too
  • 2 pkg Oriental ramen noodles, broken up

Directions
  1. Combine first 4 ingredients in a small bowl and whisk till well blended
  2. Let this sit while you're toasting the almonds and sesame seeds, stirring occasionally
  3. Toast sesame seeds and almonds till golden brown in a skillet over medium heat
  4. Set aside
  5. Combine slaw mix, onions and noodles in a large bowl
  6. Pour dressing over and mix well
  7. Chill till cold, at least 1 hour
  8. Sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds and almonds, mix well and serve

Sounds good to me!

Made this tonight and my husband and I loved it. I know there are many versions of this ramen noodle salad, but yours is delicious, especially the toasted sesame and almonds. I will make this again for sure. Thanks and I gave it a five!

Just to be sure, the ramen is not cooked first? Does it soften up or remain crunchy?
