How to make it

  • COBBLER:
  • Mix first four ingredients with fruit in a saucepan.
  • Cook over medium to medium-high heat and stir until thick.
  • Add butter and lemon juice, remove from heat and pour into a baking dish.
  • TOPPING:
  • Sift dry ingredients, add milk and butter at once, beat with electric mixer until smooth.
  • Spread over fruit.
  • NUTMEG TOPPER:
  • In a separate small bowl, stir nutmeg and sugar together.
  • Sprinkle over topping.
  • Bake in a preheated 350 F. oven for 30 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before serving.
