Orange Nut Cake

- 2 cups sugar shopping list
- 1 cup butter shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 2 cups flour (all purpose) shopping list
- 1 cup buttermilk shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1 orange (Squeeze juice, remove pulp) shopping list
- 1 cup raisins shopping list
- 1 cup pecans shopping list
- 2 cups powdered sugar shopping list
- 2 tablespoons orange juice shopping list
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice shopping list
- 3 tablespoons butter shopping list
How to make it
- Cream butter and sugar
- Add eggs 1 at a time
- Sift flour and salt together
- Add baking soda to buttermilk
- Add to creamed mixture alternately with flour and nuts, raisins, orange peeling which has bene put through food chopper
- Bake in 8-inch layer pans greased and floured in 350 degree oven, 25 to 30 minutes
- For Icing
- Cream butter
- Add small amount sugar
- Add orange and lemon juices alternately with sugar until icing is well blended.
- Let cake cool and apply icing.
