Southern Whiting Filets Recipe
These are delightful. Any fish can be substituted for the whiting.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds whiting fillets
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 3 tablespoons chopped green onions
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon liquid hot pepper sauce

Directions
  1. Place fillets in a single layer on a well-greased baking platter then brush with lemon juice.
  2. Combine remaining ingredients and set aside.
  3. Broil fish for 6 minutes.
  4. Remove from heat and spread with cheese mixture.
  5. Broil 2 more minutes until lightly browned.

I actually tried this recipe last night. I have to admit i was a bit apprehensive, just because it sounded so easy. I was so surprised how well it turned out, and to be quite honest it is hard to find and easy fish recipe that is not fried!!!!! THANKS


I made this recipe for dinner tonight and it was a big hit! It turned out quite tasty! My advice is to leave the fish under the broiler after you add the cheese mixture for about 3 minutes or until golden brown so it crisps up a bit more.


I made this on Sunday and leftovers on Monday. I let my co-workers taste it and they said it was so good. I just got off the phone with one of my co-workers giving her the recipe so she can cook dinner tonight.

Kudos to the person that posted this. I think I will be making my fish like this all the time.


I am not a big fan of Whiting Fish, but I had some in the freezer and needed to use it up. I found this recipe and even told my husband if it tastes bad we are ordering pizza. Well, not only was it delicious, my husband had 4 fillets, my 3 year old son ate 3 fillets and the 2 pounds of Whiting Fish I made that I thought we would have to order a pizza over, was gone. I use this recipe on all fish recipes, now. Whomever posted it, thank you soo much!
