Chocolate Mint Bars Recipe
Refigerate the mint bars to allow the top layer to set properly,the base layer is like a rich ,fugie brownie so be careful of over cooking or the bars will be very dry.

  • Bottom layer
  • 1 cup all purpose flour(4 1/2 oz)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 cup granulate sugar
  • 1/2 cup egg substitute
  • 1/4 cup butter,melted
  • 2 tblsp water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs,beaten
  • 1 16 oz can chocolate syrup
  • cooking spray
  • MINT LAYER
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup butter,melted
  • 2 tblsp fat free milk
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 drops green food coloring
  • GLAZE
  • 3/4 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 3 tblsp butter.

Directions
  1. pre heat oven to 350
  2. to prepare bottom layer,lightly spoon flour into a measuring cup:level with a knife,combine flour and salt :stir with a whisk.
  3. combine granulated sugar,egg substitute,3/4cup melted butter,2 tblsp water,vanilla,eggsand chocolate syrup in amedium bowl;until smooth.
  4. add flour mixture to chocolate mixture,stirring until blended.
  5. pour batter into a 13 x9 baking pan coated with cooking spray.
  6. bake at 350 for 23 min or until a wooden pick inserted comes out clean.
  7. cool completely in pan on a wire rack
  8. to prepare the mint layer
  9. combine powdered sugar,1/4 cup melted butter,milk,peppermint extract,food coloring.
  10. in medium bowl;beat with a mixer until smooth.
  11. spread mixture over cooled cake.
  12. to prepare the Glaze
  13. combine the chocolate chips and three tblsp butter in amedium microwave safe bowl.
  14. microwave high for 1 min or until melted,stirring after 30 sec.
  15. let stand 2 min.
  16. spread chocolate mixture evenly over top.
  17. cover and refridgerate until ready to serve.Cut into 20 pieces
