Ingredients
  • 1-1/2 pounds fresh shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 3 tablespoons peanut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 can condensed chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons catsup
  • 1 tablespoon white vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon dry sherry
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 2 green onions cut into 1 inch lengths and shredded
  • 1 teaspoon cilantro

Directions
  1. Drain shrimp on paper towels.
  2. Pour peanut oil around top of a preheated wok coating sides then heat at high 1 minute.
  3. Add shrimp and garlic and stir fry 8 minutes.
  4. Combine broth and next 7 ingredients stirring until smooth.
  5. Add to shrimp mixture stirring constantly.
  6. Bring to a boil and cook 1 minute.
  7. Stir in sesame oil, green onions, ginger and cilantro.
  8. Cook until heated through.
  9. Serve immediately with rice.

I'd love to try this dish. It sounds good. I have a question..I'm a vegetarian and do you think I could substitute shrimp stock for the chicken stock..I could make a cup of shrimp stock out of the shells maybe? Do you think that would be good? Too shrimpy?


I think that would be awesome and would cut down on the sodium.


How many ounces in a can of broth?
