Bananas With Whipped Cream And Rum

Oh, yes, this is good! Oh, yes, this is simple! Oh, yes, this is a nice dessert! Impressive served on a glass dessert plate. Very nice.
Ingredients
- 4-6 large firm bananas shopping list
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter shopping list
- 1/2 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream shopping list
- 1/4 cup rum shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract shopping list
How to make it
- Peel bananas, slice in half lengthwise
- In skillet, saute in butter until golden brown
- Drain on paper towel
- Place on a large platter or dessert plate
- Cool
- Sprinkle 1/2 of the sugar, (1/4 cup), over bananas
- In bowl, whip the cream until stiff peaks form
- Folding in the remaining 1/4 cup sugar, rum, and vanilla
- Cover bananas with this mixture
- Chill
- Serve sprinkled with ground cloves OR cinnamon OR both
