Slow Cooked Apple Pear And Apricot Pork Chops Recipe
"A quick and easy one pot meal that is filling and flavorful." I got this in email. It is a Paula Deen Recipe. My sister made this a few days ago and it was so delicious!

Ingredients
  • 6 Smithfield Pork Chops
  • 1 cup fresh Anjou pear -- roughly chopped
  • 1 cup red apple -- roughly chopped
  • 1 cup dried apricots -- chopped
  • 1 medium onion -- chopped
  • 3 ribs celery -- roughly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
  • 3/4 cups apple juice
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white wine
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch mixed with 2 tablespoons water
  • Apple and pear slices for garnish

Directions
  1. In a slow cooker, or Dutch oven combine all ingredients, except cornstarch and water. Cover and cook on LOW for 7 to 9 hours, or 3 1/2 to 4 1/2 hours on HIGH. 30 minutes before serving, skim off any excess fat.
  2. Stir in cornstarch mixture and return broth to slow cooker. Continue cooking on low until sauce is smooth and thickened.
  3. Garnish with apple and pear slices.

  5. Serve alongside a fresh green salad.

Boy this caught my eye....right off the bat!!!! Gonna have to indulge myself on this one...Fabulous.....


I love fruit and pork together. This one looks intriguing with the wine. Keeping it for next week! Oh. I know what Smithfield is but are you talking about regular pork chops or smoked ones?
Would it not work with both!


This is a great recipe. I find myself adding fruit to just about everything lately,,,and lovin' it!
