Ingredients
- 1-1/2 cups butter (3 cubes), room temperature
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 (12-ounce) package chocolate chips or M&M's candies
- 1 cup hazelnuts or pecans, chopped
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- In a medium bowl, cream together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs and vanilla extract. Beat well.
- Combine flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt and gradually blend into creamed mixture.
- Stir in chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
- Bake at 350 degrees, 8 to 9 minutes. Do not overbake; cookies will be soft. (They will puff while baking and flatten while cooling.)
- Cool slightly and remove from baking sheet.
- SERVES: 3 - 4 dozen
