Ingredients

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/2 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup creamy peanut butter

1/3 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 large egg

1 tsp. vanilla extract

1 cup quick-cooking oats

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp. baking powder

1/2 tsp. baking soda

36 chocolate drops (kisses), unwrapped

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

In a bowl mix sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter and butter until smooth.

Add egg and vanilla; mix until blended

In another bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder and baking soda.

Add this to the peanut butter mixture and mix until combined.

Drop dough by level Tbsp-fuls onto ungreased baking sheet, spacing 1 1/2-in apart.

Bake until golden, about 12 mins.

Press chocolate kiss piece firmly in center of each cookie, while cookies are still hot.

Transfer cookies to wire rack and cool completely.

Store airtight for up to 2 weeks.

Some different variations that we have used for the center are chocolate stars and even pressing your thumb on top of each cookie to make a hollow and fill with a tsp. of jam of your choice.

With so many different types of Kisses available use a variety assortment and make it a sampler plate.

This recipe can also be made using a food processor to mix .
