How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  • In a bowl mix sugar, brown sugar, peanut butter and butter until smooth.
  • Add egg and vanilla; mix until blended
  • In another bowl, combine oats, flour, baking powder and baking soda.
  • Add this to the peanut butter mixture and mix until combined.
  • Drop dough by level Tbsp-fuls onto ungreased baking sheet, spacing 1 1/2-in apart.
  • Bake until golden, about 12 mins.
  • Press chocolate kiss piece firmly in center of each cookie, while cookies are still hot.
  • Transfer cookies to wire rack and cool completely.
  • Store airtight for up to 2 weeks.
  • Some different variations that we have used for the center are chocolate stars and even pressing your thumb on top of each cookie to make a hollow and fill with a tsp. of jam of your choice.
  • With so many different types of Kisses available use a variety assortment and make it a sampler plate.
  • This recipe can also be made using a food processor to mix .
