Ingredients

How to make it

  • To make the trees, bake the batter inside waffle cones, lining the cones with parchment paper and standing them in holes cut into an inverted disposable foil roasting pan.
  • When the cakes are ready, remove and discard the cones and parchment.
  • Then invert each tree cake onto a regular cupcake, cementing them together with a dab of frosting.
  • Cover the entire tree, cone and cupcake, with cream cheese frosting using a pastry bag and a star tip.
  • Sprinkle with sanding sugar, and use a little extra to create beds of "snow" for serving.
  • The picture is of snow-laden trees, but you could do them green with colored "ornaments" and dots.
  • Be creative.
  • And don't forget, this is a double cupcake!!!

I love these! I really need to get a decorating set and learn how to use it. I miss out on so many fun recipes without one.

You know this might go pretty good with my ice cream cone cupcake recipe. Using them instead of just a regular cupcake as the bottom might make it look like the trunk of the tree, hmmmm. I will have to ty this. What a great fun idea. Thank you for such a creative post!
