Wilders Slow Southern Collard Greens

- 4 pounds collard greens shopping list
- 1/2 pound thick sliced bacon, diced shopping list
- 6 tablespoons of bacon drippings shopping list
- 4 qt water shopping list
- 1 large onion, chopped shopping list
- 2 teaspoons salt shopping list
- 2 teaspoons pepper shopping list
- 4 tablespoons minced garlic shopping list
- 2 teaspoons Worchestershire sauce shopping list
- 1 teaspoon Old Bay Seasoning shopping list
How to make it
- Wash collard greens in at least 3 changes of water to remove all sediment.
- Remove stalks and thick veins and rip leaves into large pieces.
- In a skillet partially fry bacon and retain drippings.
- Bring water to a boil.
- Add chopped onion, bacon, salt, pepper, garlic, Worchestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and bacon drippings to boiling water.
- Add greens to boiling water.
- Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 4 hours.
