How to make it

  • Clean, wash, and drain fish. Poach or steam on medium heat for three to four minutes. cool, remove skin, bones and flake fish meat.
  • Wash, boil, cool, peel and mash potatoes. Clean, wash and finely chop fresh coriander leaves. remove stems, wash and finely chop green chillies.
  • Peel, wash and finely chop onions. Whisk eggs lightly. Wash and pat dry raisins.
  • Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan. add onions and saute till light golden brown. Remove from heat and add fish, potatoes, coriander leaves, green chillies, raisins, salt, white pepper powder, turmeric powder and vinegar.
  • Mix thoroughly and divide into ten to twelve equal portions. Shape into round patties of half inch thickness.
  • Dip patties in whisked egg, coat with breadcrumbs.
  • Heat sufficient oil in a frying pan and deep fry fish patties till golden brown.
  • Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot.

    wow this is a completely new idea for fish. I had never thought of combining these ingredients but I bet its a winner. I will have to give it a try. I'm guessing baking would work as well as frying. I'm not much on fried foods.
