MANCHER CHOP

- fish 500gms shopping list
- potatoes 2 large sized shopping list
- fresh coriander leaves - a few sprigs shopping list
- Green chillies 2-3 shopping list
- onions 2 medium sized shopping list
- eggs 2 shopping list
- raisins 1 tbsp shopping list
- vegetable oil 2 tbsps+ to deep fry shopping list
- salt to taste shopping list
- white pepper powder - half tbsp shopping list
- turmeric powder quarter tbsp (optional) shopping list
- vinegar 1 tbsp shopping list
- breadcrumbs 1 cup shopping list
How to make it
- Clean, wash, and drain fish. Poach or steam on medium heat for three to four minutes. cool, remove skin, bones and flake fish meat.
- Wash, boil, cool, peel and mash potatoes. Clean, wash and finely chop fresh coriander leaves. remove stems, wash and finely chop green chillies.
- Peel, wash and finely chop onions. Whisk eggs lightly. Wash and pat dry raisins.
- Heat two tablespoons of oil in a pan. add onions and saute till light golden brown. Remove from heat and add fish, potatoes, coriander leaves, green chillies, raisins, salt, white pepper powder, turmeric powder and vinegar.
- Mix thoroughly and divide into ten to twelve equal portions. Shape into round patties of half inch thickness.
- Dip patties in whisked egg, coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat sufficient oil in a frying pan and deep fry fish patties till golden brown.
- Drain onto an absorbent paper and serve hot.
