How to make it

  • After picking blueberries. Bring them home spread them out on a jelly roll pan in a single layer and freeze until they are little blue marbles. (We don't wash the berries, because they can turn to mush, and we get them from an organic grower. If you have to wash them, use very cold water and then dry them well.) Transfer to pint freezer bags or containers and put back in freezer.

  • Take berries out of the freezer. Divide the pint between 6 desert/custard dishes. And place at table.
  • As everyone comes to the table, they pour a little milk from their glass on to the blueberries. Save the blueberries for last, I know it's hard, but you'll thank me. The milk will freeze on the berries while you eat, and it will taste more like cream. Sprinkle berries with sugar and enjoy
