Ingredients

28 oz can pork and beans

1 small can of kidney beans

1 small can of tomato soup

1 small can of sliced mushrooms, drained

1 green pepper, finely chopped

1 onion, finely chopped

1/2 cup ketchup

1/2 cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons vinegar

1/2 lb bacon, cut into bite size pieces

1/2 lb hamburger

garlic salt, to taste

Directions

Brown hamburger, bacon and onion. Drain off excess fat. Add remaining ingredients; stir well. Spoon into casserole dish and cover with lid. Bake for 1 1/2 hours at 350 F, stirring occasionally.

You know, I always have trouble when I give my sister a recipe and she alters it ALLOT by adding everything but the kitchen sink or alters it, tells me it was great and thank you for the recipe. The recipe no longer feels like my special recipe when she does that. My eye is twitching - great! The reason I am saying this is because I made your recipe for Hobo beans tonight and my family and I loved them! I feel terrible though because I did not have a regular can of prok and beans on hand. All I had was Bush's Best Country Style Baked Beans. I will make this again using your recipe down to the letter but I would still like to tell you that this recipe will always stay a keeper in our kitchen. :D
