How to make it

  • Layer the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan or glass dish with slices of bread. Add layer of chicken, mushrooms and water chestnuts.
  • Mix together: cream of mushroom soup, cream of celery soup, mayo and pimento. Pour over chicken and top with slices of American cheese.
  • Beat 2 eggs, milk and salt. Pour over everything and refrigerate overnight. Bake 350 (325 for glass) for 1 hour and 15 minutes
  • Sprinkle with Pepperidge farm Herb stuffing mix and dot with butter.
  • Bake another 15 minutes
