Nanas Apple Cheddar Crumble Recipe
Another Nana recipe. A true comfort food dessert - if you like cheddar on your apple pie, this is baked right in. Add a scoop of vanilla ice cream and dig in!

Ingredients
  • 6 cups apples, peeled and sliced
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter

Directions
  1. Fill pie plate or shallow casserole dish with apples. Sprinkle with lemon juice and 1/4 cup of sugar. Mix remaining sugar, cinnamon, salt, flour and butter until crumbly and then stir in cheese. Spread over apples and press topping into apples slightly. Bake at 350 until apples are tender and bubbly.
  2. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
