Kick Ass Apple Crisp

- 6 apples, (I used 3 Gala and 3 Granny Smith) roughly peeled, cored and sliced into 8 segments. shopping list
- juice of half a lemon shopping list
- 2 rounded T of Splenda brown sugar shopping list
- 2 rounded T of whole wheat flour shopping list
- 2 sticks of cinnamon shopping list
- 1 clove shopping list
- 1 t cardamom seeds (the little dark bits that come out of green pods) shopping list

- 2 small handfulls raw whole oats shopping list
- 2-3 rounded T of Splenda brown sugar shopping list
- 2/3 stick of butter, cold and cut in pieces shopping list
- 3 rounded T whole wheat flour shopping list

- oil to grease baking pan (I use coconut oil) shopping list
How to make it
- Preheat oven to 350 F
- After peeling, coring & cutting the apples, put them in a large bowl & toss with lemon juice.
- Combine cinnamon, clove & cardamom in a spice or coffee grinder and pulse until smooth. Run through a sieve to catch any coarse bits.
- Add 2T sugar, 2T flour and half of the spice mixture to the apples and toss well to coat.
- Lightly grease a 9 X 9 glass dish and dump in the apples. Shake the dish a bit to level them out.
- In a smaller bowl, combine remaining flour, sugar, oats and spice. Cut in the butter.
- When toppping resembles rough crumbs, sprinkle evenly over apples and bake for about 45 mins.
- Cool for 5 minutes, then serve warm with heavy cream or vanilla ice cream.
