Almond Shortbread

- 1/2 cup butter shopping list
- 1/4 cup margarine shopping list
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 8 ounces brown sugar shopping list
- 1 egg shopping list
- 3/4 cup almonds -- flaked shopping list
- 1 tsp. vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/4 tsp almond extract shopping list
How to make it
- Rub butter and margarine into the flour.
- Add sugar, beaten egg and almonds, and extracts.
- Knead the mixture thoroughly.
- Form mixture into an oblong shape about two inches square at the end.
- Wrap in foil and leave in the refrigerator overnight.
- Cut into 1/8-inch-thick slices using a serrated knife.
- Place on greased baking sheet and cook for 10-15 minutes at 350 degrees F.
- *another idea, is that I form it into a ball, and leave it in the fridge. Then I roll out the dough and cut out fun shapes with a cookie cutter.*
