If you want less sweet and more buttery taste exclude the 1/2 cup of sugar in the batter and use butter flavored shortening.

Sounds like a great recipe. Just one question, do they go in muffin tins? Really want to try it just not sure how to cook. :) Thanks so much!!

I just made these and they are good. I made mine with butter flavored shortening and I accidentally forgot to add the 1/2 cup of sugar to the batter. The sugared cinnamon on the outside was enough sweet for us. Mine came out more like soft biscuits. My husband liked them very much and called them breakfast biscuits. I may have over mixed the batter because I was trying out a new stand mixer, but they still turned out quite delish! Blondberry, can you tell me how they are supposed to come out as far as consistency? Are they supposed to rise a bit?

I totally made them wrong the first time. They were more like donuts the second time....and so yummy.
